Breakfast For Three Tablescape

When a friend and neighbor paid us a visit in Asti last week, offering us fresh eggs, we ended up with an impromptu breakfast for three.

Looking at these gorgeous eggs, it was the least we could do.

Raisin bread was on hand and would be a perfect compliment to a country omelet.

I set the table on the kitchen island, using a red stripe runner to anchor the place settings.

Working with what was available, I used the PB chicken wire chargers, vintage grape leaf plates, and green Bordallo Pinheiro bowls.

By combining tried and true dishes with new linens, I created a fresh, new look.

The coffee cup found a majolica saucer!

Back to those eggs!
Someday, I will have chickens, I swear!

In the meantime, I appreciate the gift of eggs from our neighbor.
He has generously offered to give us a few chickens, but until we retire in Asti, it doesn't make sense.
Although, my son-in-law has generously offered to build a backyard coop at home......
Hmmmmm.....

I'm joining Kim at Savvy Southern Style for Wow Us Wednesday.

I LOVE my chickens! Our first chicks hatched last week not from the hatchery. Get some if you can!

Always love an unexpected visit / meal. That runner looks familiar but I cant put my finger on what store it came from? My husband also wants chickens but I have been holding him off. Our new neighborhood does not allow them so he is trying to buy a neighboring property for those kinds of things.

Wonderful post. How lucky to have a neighbor bring those fresh eggs. And how nice of you to reward him with a lovely little breakfast.
Mr. Wonderful and I are planning on building a little backyard coop very soon. I can't wait.

Farm fresh eggs are so beautiful and your tablescape really compliments the mood! (does that make sense?) Anyway, I love it!

Delores, this looks so inviting. You can pull a beautiful table together with a snap of the fingers. ;-)
Beautiful eggs too. Chickens have become very popular here. You should give it a try. Could always find a home for them if it doesn't work out in the city.

Love your new table linens with the green Bordallo bowls and grape leaf plates. How nice to have a neighbor with eggs to share. We had Rhode Island Reds and banties years ago when we lived in MT, but our neighborhood here in GA won't allow chickens. I loved the banties.
What breed of chickens are you thinking of getting?..when you get them..
